Description

Lead by Jennifer Farmer, this one-day intensive workshop will combine practical work and theory to introduce you to the particularities associated with structuring scripts, creating characters and producing dialogue for various kinds of live performance. You will be exploring the nature of theatre through sharing your work and offering constructive feedback to your fellow students, reading and analysing play texts.

An Associate lecturer at Goldsmiths and Kingston University, Jennifer has written and created work extensively for performance, which includes Breathing (Theatre 503, 2003), clean (BBC Radio 3, 2003), Compact Failure (Clean Break, Arcola Theatre and national tour, 2004), 270° (Paines Plough, Young Vic, 2004), A Million Different People (BBC Radio 4, 2005), words, words, words (Tricycle Theatre, 2006) , Bulletproof Soul (Birmingham Rep, 2007; short-listed for the 2008 Brian Way Award), Stutter (Hotbed Festival, 2008), Urban Dreams (London Bubble, 2008), These Four Streets (Birmingham Rep, 2009), thefadingcity (Southbank Centre, 2010), .54 (Stour Space/View Tube, 2011), Truth or Dare (Belgrade Theatre, 2012), terra firma (Hackney WickED Festival, 2012), Eating Our Words (Camden People’s Theatre, 2012), delay (DegreeArt Gallery, 2013) and Waltzing Tomatoes (Athica Gallery, USA, 2013 and international festivals). Jennifer has previously lectured at London South Bank University, Central School of Speech and Drama, University of Sussex and the University of Greenwich.
