National Youth Dance Company (NYDC) is the country’s flagship youth dance company. This February, we will be in residence in Hull, celebrating City of Culture 2017. The 40 strong company, aged 15-22, will be working with 2016-17 Guest Artistic Director, Damien Jalet, creating our brand new work Tarantiseismic. In partnership with Hull City Council and Hull and East Riding Dance Hub, we will be opening our doors for young people to attend an Experience Workshop.
If you are aged 14-19 (or up to age 24 if deaf or disabled) please join us for a morning of dance including a workshop, opportunity to watch NYDC dancers in rehearsal and to find out more about the company. Parents/Carers/Guardians will be invited to watch the NYDC rehearsal and discussion with the dancers from 11:30-12:30. The workshop is open to young people from all dance backgrounds and abilities with experience in any dance style. There is no cost to attend the workshop but places must be pre-booked. Places can be booked for individual dancers or groups. Please note, this is not an audition for NYDC but just a chance to find out more about the company.
