Description
~JANUARY UNFO~
"SPEECH & THE TERMINOLOGY OF FREEDOM"
1) ~THE UNGINE ROOM~
The Dark Workshop
"The slums of the first machinists lie empty on the upper levels, a veritable rabbit warren of tenements, corridors without logic or destination, personal affects long-since discarded..."
2) ~THE PROJECTION ROOM~
Zihui Song: What We Talk About When We Talk About Abortion
15/01/17 - 15/02/17
This month at The Projection Room we are honoured to present the beautifully intricate, challenging multi-dialogue video “What We Talk About When We Talk About Abortion?” by Chinese artist Zihui Song. Focusing on China's booming abortion industry, the video is about a post-abortion support group that includes five women talking about their experiences.
3) ~THE CUTTING ROOM~
The Unstitute presents: Ommatidium
15/01/17 - 15/02/17
"Darkness is a property of the eye itself; whether one chooses to see or not is a property of the will..."
Taken from the video series "The Flies" 2011. The Flies hover around the dissected, fragmented body; the call of the Furies awakens these dismembered characters, giving them voice.
4) ~UN[dis]CRIMINATE~
Megan Heilig: View From a Tent
The Unstitute is proud to admit a truly captivating new video into the UN[dis]CRIMINATE archive, further deepening our quest to interrogate and forge a radical theory of diversity fit for our future co-existence.
"View from a Tent (2016) is a short experimental documentary which explores fear within the vastness of Brooklyn and New York City as a whole, seen through the lens of a camera coming from South Africa."
