A day of talks, performance, film and discussion focusing on the presence of live dance performance in the Gallery. 

This event, targeting dance artists, curators, scholars, arts professionals and interested public focuses on the recent resurgence and reappearance of the live dancing body in the Gallery and Museum. There will be opportunities to hear the experiences of dance artists and curators working in the field and a chance to network with others and discuss the possibilities for the medium and partnerships in Wales and beyond.

Not only has dance entered the museum circuit, it has created its own concept for exhibition. This is much more than putting one foot in front of the other. This is interest in the human body and individual experience. Katya Vaghi. bachtrack. 2014.

Presentations:Frank Bock, dance artist and curator, shares perspectives on his curatorial role at Mirror City, Hayward Gallery 2014, Movement artist Simon Whitehead and Oriel Davies' curator Alex Boyd Jones reflect on Simon's dance residency at the gallery in 2015, and Migrations Artistic Director / Curator Karine Decorne shares experience of curating dance in different contexts, including gallery spaces.
