This three months voluntary placement offers a fantastic opportunity for people interested in working in the field of Community Arts, Arts Therapy and Social Enterprise to gain an insight into a small yet innovative charity.

Studio Upstairs is an arts charity providing holistic support through providing access to artistic studios for people experiencing mental health difficulties or emotional distress.We run creative workshops and Gallery Nights.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly approach and be comfortable in the position of front of house. Also possessing excellent skills in MS Office, Outlook, Adobe Writer and Reader. Skills in photography and any other software are desirable. A high degree of personal motivation will be required.

Role Description:

Front of House

• Meet and greet members to the studio

• General support to members enquiries

• General operational duties including administrative support, setting up studio/workshops

• Be available to answer any enquiries about the studio and the artwork on display, via telephone, email or face to face

• To assist where reasonably possible, with any possible access related issues to the exhibitions and services.

• Manage the setting up and shutting down of the exhibition.

• Monitor the gallery shop to ensure that the area is clean and tidy, and the artwork on display is safe and secure at all times.

• To keep a record of visitor attendance and capture evaluative information from visitors.

Support for the role

Working conditions 

You would ideally be available to work one or two full days a week, 11 am – 5pm. Ideally on Mondays and/or Wednesdays.
