Pop-up orchestra takes to the streets of London / Street Orchestra of London / London / South East

Description

The Street Orchestra of London (SOL), a 40-piece pop-up orchestra, will be bringing live music to London once again April 13-16!

The theme of this year's tour is Music & Migration: all the works performed have been written by refugee and migrant composers – from Handel to Kurt Weill and Bartók to The Fugees –including a UK premiere by Aftab Darvishi, an Iranian composer

SOL is redefining the classical experience, taking orchestral music out of the concert hall. With four to seven performances per day, a set-up time of less than five minutes, and playing pieces of all conceivable style, the Street Orchestra of London brings orchestral music to everyone, anywhere.

On Saturday April 15 the orchestra will be performing at Hackney Showroom as part of Nonclassical’s infamous classical club-night, fusing live contemporary classical music with electronic beats.
