Description
Creative Scene seeks to commission a company, artist or collective of artists to create a high impact, high quality and highly visible outdoor family work or programme of work to engage a significant number of local families (in excess of 700 people through the project) for presentation in Wilton Park Batley from Thursday 24 to Tuesday 29 August 2017 inclusive.
We are interested in creative responses from suitably experienced and qualified artists and companies; due to the scale and complexity of work of this nature, we imagine that recipients of the commission will have demonstrable experience in outdoor work/ work of this scale.
Whilst we do not seek to be prescriptive about what the work or programme of work will be – this commission forms part of the wider strategy for our ‘ON TOUR FAMILY’ project – therefore there are a number of objectives we expect that this commission will actively contribute to:
- Increasing audiences; including projects in geographic areas of low engagement and with Asian communities in North Kirklees
- Exploring programming that is relevant to Family Audiences; under 8’s and their grown-ups.
- Establishing a team of community programmers and ambassadors
It should also respond to the work done and learning acquired by Creative Scene to date around engaging families in North Kirklees.
