Family Drop-in Event: How Tastes the Thames? Sat 17 Sept 12-3pm

Family Drop-in Event: How Tastes the Thames? Sat 17 Sept 12-3pm

Description

Saturday 17 September, 12 - 3 pm

Salty, sweet, bitter, sour, pungent, aromatic?  Creamy, chalky, cheesy?  Fizzy, gooey, greasy?  What are those bits?

Join artist Anne Krinsky at The Gallery, Thames-Side Studios for an exploration of foodstuffs, artefacts, and art about the River Thames.  Learn how the Thames was used to transport food from all around the world, as well as what might be found in the river to feed the hungry hordes. Smell, touch and taste your way to making your own artwork in response to the question 'How Tastes the Thames?' at our Artists' Feasting Table.

This is a FREE drop-in event, children must be accompanied.

Supported by an Arts Council England, MBNA Thames Clippers, Great Art, Global Art Supplies and Thames-Side Print Studio.

Location: The Gallery, Thames-Side Studios, Harrington Way London, SE18 5NR

Anne Krinsky: Tide Line Thames is on view from 8-25 September
