Wolves & Apples. Event for aspiring authors of children's books

Description

Wolves & Apples 2016
An event for aspiring and established writers interested in writing for children and young adults.

Wolves & Apples is an annual literary conference involving practical workshops talks and discussions from experienced children’s authors, and industry figures.

Confirmed guests this year include Celia Rees, author of 'Witch Child', Christopher Priestley, author of 'Uncle Montague’s Tales of Terror' and 'Mr Creecher', literary agent Ben Illis and editor Kesia Lupo of Chicken Shed books.

Sessions will include practical workshops on ‘Kickstarting Your Novel’, ‘Creating a Teenage Protagonist’ and ‘Writing a Picture Book’, and discussion of the author/agent working relationship and children’s publishing.

There will also be a strictly limited number of one to one sessions with agent Ben Illis, in which writers will be offered feedback on their work and advice on the next steps they should take. The sessions will be selective, based on a submitted sample of writing. Everyone who books a place at Wolves and Apples will be sent details of how to apply for a one to one session.
