'Shakespeare: War Play' / Burjesta Theatre / North West

Description

'They smile at me that shortly shall be dead...'

150 years of dramatic English history (1340 to 1485) - the Hundred Years War in France & the War of the Roses on English soil.

Adapted entirely from the text of Shakespeare's History Plays (Edward III, Richard II, Henry IV Parts 1 & 2, Henry V, Henry VI Parts, 1, 2 & 3 and Richard III) and woven into an epic tale of warfare, power and destruction.

The Black Prince Edward, the comic knight Falstaff, French resistance fighter Joan of Arc, Margaret of Anjou the Warrior Queen and that personification of evil, Richard the Crookback - just some of the many characters who flit across the pages of history in this movable feast.
