Expressive Portrait Head Weekend Workshop

Sussex Sculpture Studios, Billingshurst, West Sussex

Saturday March 11 & Sunday March 12, 2017, 10am – 4pm, £160 (including materials and firing)

Want to capture more expression and character in your portrait sculptures? Want time to experiment with different poses, textures and techniques? If yes, this two-day course is for you. Using a different model each day you will have the chance to sculpt in clay a series of smaller, expressive heads. At a later stage you can choose to hollow-out and fire these. The course is suited to those with some experience of portrait sculpture. Course maximum: 8.

Hazel ReevesSWA FRSA is an award-winning portrait sculptor working to commission in bronze. Her 7ft 4in bronze of Sir Nigel Gresley – the eminent railway engineer – at King’s Cross Station, captured the media’s attention in 2016. Hazel is on the Council of the Society of Women Artists, Member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors (RBS) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), exhibiting her work at London galleries, across the South of England and beyond.
