Physical Lab offers training to actors and performers across Europe and the US. Applications are currently open for our Summer Intensive, Led by Yorgos Karamalegos (www.yorgosk.com) and supported by Physical Lab's team of international artists. 

The course runs for two weeks, although participants also have the option of booking the first week individually. The lab methodologies are centred around ensemble training, focusing on complicity and responsive communication between performers, and professional development tailored to the needs of each individual participant. 

The Training

Week 1: Grounding, text work and physical lab training. ​
This week is an exhilarating dive into the actors’ body through the core methodologies of the Lab.The work will focus on grounding techniques (physical and vocal), explorations ofimpulses and emotions, improvisation and connection with text. All exercises aim to activate all the senses, emotions, imagination, free up your physicality and your connection with subconscious activity.

 Week 2:  Development of character work and performance skills.
The methodologies of the first week are applied to character and preparation for performance. We will engage with attention to the individual for the identification and release of acting habits as well as exploration of the character physically and emotionally. The outcome is the complete ownership of the text and embodiment of a role.
