Comedy Performance: Anchor Woman, Viv Groskop / Freud Museum London / London

Comedy Performance: Anchor Woman, Viv Groskop, Freud Museum London

Description

Following her five star, sold-out 2016 show Be More Margo, BBC Radio 4’s Viv Groskop presents her latest work-in-progress ahead of the Edinburgh Fringe. 'Anchorwoman' is a show exploring why exactly the news is so annoying at the moment. The veteran of a twenty-year career in journalism, Viv asks the questions that matter in this era of “alternative facts”. What should we make of ‘fake news’? Do social media updates now constitute reporting? And would the news be better if only Moira Stuart was allowed to read it out? Current affairs, politics, feminism and Fiona Bruce impressions ahoy!

Tickets include a complimentary G&T with all the trimmings (or soft drink). Doors open at 6.30pm.

Viv Groskop is a comedian, writer and broadcaster. A guest presenter on BBC Radio 4, she appears regularly on Front Row, Woman’s Hour and Saturday Review. Her one-woman shows 'Be More Margo (2016) and 'Say Sorry to the Lady' (2015) had five-star sold-out runs at The Stand at the Edinburgh Fringe (“Viv is brilliant” — Jo Brand). She’s the author of 'I Laughed, I Cried', a best-selling memoir about doing 100 stand-up shows in 100 consecutive nights (“frankly psychotic” — Mail on Sunday). She writes comment for the Guardian and the Observer and has a weekly column on culture in The New European.
