Textile Printing with Lace

In this workshop we will be looking at a variety of lace designs, and applying them onto other fabrics through print.

You will have the opportunity to screen print a number of historical, and contemporary lace designs on both fine silks, as well as heavier fabrics, and see the transformation of an embellished 3D fabric into a 2D surface print.

Learn through experimentation how to gain different patterns by over printing, and layering, and how the design changes depending on whether it is printed on a transparent fabric or an opaque one.

Printing inks and fabrics included in cost.

You will be taught by Michèle Oberdieck, a contemporary textile and glass designer (BA Hons in Printed & Knitted Textiles, Glasgow School of Art, MA Royal College of Art in Ceramics and Glass).
