APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN (festival: 4-30 July)

Following the success of the Festival last July, we are delighted to announce Women and War: EXODUS, a month-long multi-disciplinary festival examining the impact of war on women. The roads they take and the changes they make to rebuild their lives elsewhere. Any time, any place, any war, any woman.

We want diversity in exploring this theme, including theatre, photography, film, art, poetry, music, crafts and cuisine

The heart of this year’s Festival will be theatre!

All forms of theatre will be considered - from comedic to mask, mime to monologue. We are especially looking for work that reflects current affairs, though that can be through the prism of history.

We are proud to present EXODUS in conjunction with the East London Fringe Festival in a brand new 110-seat venue in Upton Park, Applecart, with which we are partnering for their inaugural year.

Over a month, we give you 8 performances of up to 75 mins. You receive 50% of the net box office, up to break-even and then you will receive 60%.

You will be expected to contribute £500 participation fee and £25 technical fee per show, which includes a 4 hour technical rehearsal. Our technical staff are fully trained stage managers and first-aiders, and should you need them in rehearsals, fees can be agreed. This works out at only £87.50 per show, with the potential to sell 880 tickets across your runYou will also get 30 hours of free rehearsal space in our venues to realise your vision.

We are also looking for one-off features and events and exhibitions, for which you will be charged a pro-rata fee on agreement, with a bespoke box office split.

We are keen to see work that celebrates women as survivors and does not showcase them as victims. No matter their story, we want to hear it!
