Description

Join us for the 7th edition of the Inside Out Festival: Connecting Higher Education with the Arts, Cultural and Creative Industries, curated and produced by TCCE (The Culture Capital Exchange) in association with Times Higher Education.

With around 30 events consisting of an eclectic mix of debates, performance, workshops, screenings and walks, the festival will take place across two days and will be hosted by Somerset House on Friday 24th March 2017 and London South Bank University, School of Arts and Creative Industries on Saturday 25th March 2017.

Inside Out creates a unique platform for creative knowledge exchange around areas of mutual concern, interest and speculation. This year's activities demonstrate a substantial focus on the increasing intersections of technology on and in the arts. Beyond that too, however, Inside Out encourages and supports a range of wider conversations, explorations and space to think about and play with the notion of culture in its widest sense.

All events are FREE to attend but registration is essential for most. Visit our website for full programme details.

Highlights include:

Artists in Tech Cities, a debate addressing policy making and the narrative of “regeneration through creativity”;

Data Recovery, an award-winning short film on our phones and how they track, trace and archive our lives;

Artistic Purpose in a fractured Society, an interactive studio session designed to stimulate exchange and fresh thinking about the power of the performing arts in contemporary societies;

Folk music composed by a computer!?, an unique event part presentation, concert and workshop on “machine learning” methods applied to composition.
