Description

The call for artists to bring their event to our JAM on the Marsh 2017 festival has just opened.  Closing date: Friday 27th January

JAM on the Marsh  is a multi-arts festival spanning Kent's Romney Marsh for 2 weeks each July.  To date the festival has included music, art, photography, theatre, children’s workshops and poetry.   This year thousands flocked to our various events and media coverage soared to 4.7million including BBC SouthEast tv, BBC Radio Kent and Radio 3.   Our programming included BBC Singers, London Mozart Players, Onyx Brass and international fashion photographer Tristan Fewings.  Blended with these oustanding visiting artists were events brought by superb regional talent through our Bring Your Own (BYO) intiative.  This is an important part of our activity to nurture less established artists.

JAM on the Marsh works as an ‘umbrella organisation’.   JAM puts on some of the concerts and events, but many are brought by the artists and performers themselves. All events are publicised and supported equally within the festival promotion.  BYO is a wonderful platform for you to make the most of our audience database, media reach and artistic network in a supported environment.  BYO artists cover their costs yet take all income e.g. tickets, art sales etc.  Those who've been involved with the festival to date have really enjoyed the experience and are keen to return, suggesting this arrangement works well.

Next year JAM on the Marsh willl run from 6th - 16th July.  We would be delighted to receive applications from across the arts spectrum; dance, comedy, theatre, poetry, story-telling, music of all genres, crafts, art, photography ……   To be involved, you simply need to click here to read more about being involved and for the short application form.

The deadline for forms is Friday 27th January.
