Description
The Meisner Technique is a powerful and respected approach to acting taught in most drama schools worldwide. Through a series of progressive exercises you will learn and practice how to: unleash truthful, emotional performances; let go of self-consciousness; expand your acting range; build self awareness and develop the ability to act moment to moment.
6th & 7th August 2016, 10 - 6pm in Leeds
Class sizes are deliberately kept small so you can get focussed learning and individualised attention.
This is an opportunity for you to get to know the technique to discover if it's a practise that works for you. It will be led by WYTN's MD, Stephanie Upsall. Stephanie is a theatre director and has been practicing the technique since 2009 - most of her training was with the much loved Scott Williams and Keith Farquhar in the UK, France, Belgium and beyond. Over the last few years she is proud to have witnessed many actors develop and become alive in their work. If you're an actor, writer or director she encourages you to join the course. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see what she has to say...
This weekend will introduce you to the first few exercises of the Meisner's work including his renowned repetition exercises.
