TILT 16 is a five-day aerial and physical theatre festival, celebrating quality teaching and performance from internationally-renowned circus artists. There is a comprehensive masterclass programme catering for beginners to professional performers, free outdoor aerial shows, young people’s work and family-friendly performances.

Birmingham’s first dedicated aerial and physical theatre festival, TILT 16 will be run by RoguePlay Theatre from their facility, the West Midlands Creation Centre (WMCC) in Digbeth.

On Wednesday 20th July, enjoy an amazing evening of performances from leading and emerging aerial and physical theatre companies including Thimble Theatre's 'Walk Ashore, a family friendly piece for young children and adults, RoguePlay Theatre's 'Boots', in which a lone performer delivers a heartfelt static trapeze solo in a pair of walking boots and finally, 'Ashes' by Paper Doll Militia, a progressive aerial company from the States.  On Thursday 21st July, there'll be a showcase of the best work by young people in the region with new Aerial and Physical Theatre commissions performed at Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

One of the free performances, entitled Snakes and Ladders, will encompass dance harness, aerial rope, parkour, physical theatre and performance poetry. Five performers playing a huge 3D version of the traditional game of Snakes & Ladders explore the good and bad qualities of desire versus destiny.
