Description
An extraordinary new show in a caravan, Mobile, is the first show to take place in Live Theatre’s new public garden and performance space Live Garden. This specially commissioned piece has been created for Live Theatre’s new outdoor space by The Paper Birds.
From Wednesday 6 to Sunday 26 June visitors are invited to step inside an ordinary looking caravan for an extraordinary experience on Newcastle’s Quayside. As one of an audience of just nine they will see a treasure trove of magical theatre and digital wizardy in an theatrical experience with just one performer that’s not to be missed.
Mobile is an inventive and intimate piece of verbatim theatre about class, family, aspiration and belonging. Powerful true stories and dreams for the future are revealed through video projections, recorded interviews, original music and a single performer. The show incorporates performance and story-telling alongside stunning digital visuals.
Live Garden is a new public outdoor performance space and garden that opens to the public this week. It has been created as part of Live Theatre’s ambitious Live Works development that has just been completed creating a new commercial office block and Live Tales, a writing centre for young people.
Mobile is at Live Theatre from Wednesday 8 to Sunday 26 June 2016 (except Friday 17 when it is at Blackhall Community Centre and Thursday 23 June, Greenhills Centre, Wheatley Hill,), tickets cost £10-£8 full price, £8-£6 for concessions. A workshop and film are also available as part of a visit to Mobile for visits for schools and community groups for daytime visits Wednesdays to Fridays, and school and community group visits are £5 per person.
