Scurry - ambitious new installation by Dan Gough / Cheeseburn Sculpture Gardens / North East / Northumberland

Scurry - ambitious new installation by Dan Gough, Cheeseburn Sculpture Gardens

Description

North East sculpture garden and gallery, Cheeseburn, is delighted to announce that last year’s winner of the very first annual Gillian Dickinson North East Young Sculptor Award – Dan Gough - will be unveiling his extraordinary new work, Scurry, on Saturday 20 May at Cheeseburn’s first open weekend of the year.

Dan has spent 9 months bringing alive his vision of a scampering ‘scurry’ of 2000 red and grey squirrels cavorting across the grounds of Cheeseburn Sculpture. A vision that involved months of toil at the National Glass Centre, Sunderland firing, glazing and placing the squirrels on mounts by hand. Scurry is a hugely ambitious installation that is sited within the Victorian Walled Garden at Cheeseburn in time for this Saturday's unveiling.
