Andy Sheppard’s Saxophone Massive is an epic performance where a huge number of local and regional saxophonists will perform a spectacular musical fanfare to mark the reopening of The Piece Hall, Halifax.
YOUR CHANCE TO TAKE PART...
Following a multi-million pound transformation, The Piece Hall will reopen this August and now is your chance to join the celebration, with a unique opportunity to be part of the opening performance.
Written and led by UK saxophonist and composer Andy Sheppard, Saxophone Massive is a large scale participation project that provides the opportunity for saxophonists of all ages and abilities to perform en masse in public spaces and unusual places.
We are looking for professionals, amateurs, teachers and beginners to perform in this ambitious show alongside world renowned jazz saxophonist Andy Sheppard.
An international phenomenon, Saxophone Massive has been performed in cities across Europe including in the UK, France and Norway and will now be commissioned for Halifax.
This event is part of Welcome, a free festival of international art and culture that celebrates the reopening of The Piece Hall, taking place between 18 August – 2 September 2017.
Rehearsal dates:
Tuesday 20 June: 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Tuesday 11 July: 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Saturday 12 August: 10.30am – 3.30pm
Thursday 17 August: 6.30pm – 8.30pm (Dress rehearsal)
Performance date:
Friday 18 August: 7.30pm (approx.)
