Description
Experience a unique live performance at The Civic on Friday 25th & 26th November
A live performance of an experimental music piece created in collaboration with contemporary music composer, Yannis Kyriakides performed within a large-scale installation called Speaking Tubes. Speaking Tubes is inspired by the astonishing sound of vortex rings travelling through the atmosphere, the installation is a gleaming steel sculpture made of air-ducting tubes and giant cones that spill out a chorus of sound. Audiences can experience the unique live sound performed live by wind and brass musicians and a special improvised performance by renowned saxophonist, John Butcher as they move around the space and become part of the sculptural soundscape.
