IF SO, THIS BFI FILM ACADEMY SPECIALIST COURSE IS THE ONE FOR YOU.
Applications are now open for the BFI Film Academy Animation Course, run by Calling the Shots in Bristol. We are accepting applications from filmmakers across the UK. Applications close 6th December Midday
Take part in a weeklong residential animation course for 16-19 year olds as part of the BFI Film Academy, in partnership with Aardman, the University of the West of England School of Animation and Bristol’s world-class animation talent.
This six-day programme includes:
- Sessions on story devising
- Stop-motion animation techniques,
- Bespoke careers advice
- Master classes with animation professionals from Bristol.
Working in small teams you will create an animated short that will be screened at The Cube Cinema in Bristol.
The course will take place in a residential training centre and runs Saturday 11th to Friday 17th February 2017
If you are...
- a UK resident aged 16-19 on the first day of the programme,
- Able to commit to the whole week,
- As excited as we are about making, watching and talking about animation,

We welcome applications from talented young filmmakers from ALL backgrounds. The fee ranges from £0 to £210, inclusive of accommodation and food, but a generous bursary scheme ensures that costs will not prevent any filmmaker from taking part.
