Physical Lab offers physical acting training to performers across Europe and the US. Our Summer Residency is the largest event in the Lab calendar and brings together an ensemble of international artists to train and perform in London over the course of three weeks.

The training is intensive, physical and tailored to the traits and professional development of each participant. We work with body, voice and text to create performances which are rooted in the uncluttered, truthful essence of the individual. The aim is to be grounded and responsive, with the entire physical, energetic and emotional system available to us at any point in our performance.

The residency is led by Yorgos Karamalegos- a highly experienced actor, performer, director, choreographer, and physical acting teacher.

He is the founder of the laboratory and co-founded Tmesis Theatre Company and Physical Fest.

He has devised, directed and performed a repertoire of productions that have toured nationally and internationally to critical and popular acclaim. Yorgos has collaborated with members of Derevo, Pina Bausch Tanztheater, Complicite, Peeplykus as well as with Fin Walker, Nigel Charnock (DV8), Yoshi Oida, Lorna Marshall and many more. Yorgos's teaching resume includes LAMDA, RADA, Drama Centre, and The Actors Centre in London.
