ICAT’s Shakespeare Intensive is a career transforming experience for any actor wanting to get to grips with the bard.

Led by Adjoa Andoh and Simon Trinder who have collectively performed in over 25 Shakespearean productions with The Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theatre and The Globe to name a few, the two week course also boasts a day of vocal masterclasses and partner work with Head of Voice at The National Theatre's Jeanette Nelson.

The course takes place over two consecutive weeks (no weekends) and entails in depth work on approaching Shakespeare using RSC, Globe and National Theatre practice, culminating in a public black box, ensemble showing of a condensed Shakespeare play.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

The course is aimed at working actors or those in training, however strong amateurs will be taken on board subject to a successful audition. No experience of playing Shakespeare is necessary. Applicants must be over 18.

WHEN IS IT?

London Shakespere Intensive: Monday July 24th- Friday Aug 4th
Manchester Shakespeare Intensive: Monday Oct 23rd- Friday Nov 3rd 

HOW DO I APPLY?

If you are yet to train with ICAT, we ask that actors submit a one minute self taped Shakespearean monologue/soliloquy of your choice to info@icat.actor (Manchester) or london@icat.actor (London). Please learn something in verse. Strong auditions will be followed by a phone interview with ICAT Principal Simon Trinder.

Though we guarantee buckets of fun, as the title would suggest, the course is intense, and therefore we are as interested in attitude as we are in ability!

The cost of the course is £590 in total.
Upon being offered a place, applicants are required to pay a £250 none refundable deposit to secure their place on the course.

The following £340 must be paid in full at least four weeks prior to the start of the course you are attending (June 26th deadline for London, September 25th deadline for Manchester).
