Sonia Sabri Company’s dance and music classes are an exciting opportunity for people of all ages and experiences to discover the joy and versatility of Indian dance and music, with acclaimed professional performers and teachers. Whether you’re hoping to improve current skills, or learn something completely new, these classes promise to enlighten and nurture the joy of these traditional Indian art forms.

Term begins on Saturday 17thSeptember and runs for 10 weeks.  All classes run on Saturday from 12pm unless otherwise indicated.

Kathak Dance Classes 

Kathak is a North Indian dance style characterized by graceful movement, fast spins, rhythmic footwork and intricate gesture. During classes, internationally acclaimed dance artist and teacher Sonia Sabri teaches the basics of these movements and more, helping students to learn and develop current talents and skills. Students will have the opportunity to perform; take grade examinations through ISTD; and have the opportunity to be recruited by Kathakaars Dance and Music Company led by Sonia Sabri.

Tabla Classes

 The Tabla consists of a set of two drums, treble and bass that are played while sitting on the floor. The versatility of this instrument has led to it become one of the most popular and well known percussion instruments around the globe, originating from North India. In these lively group sessions you will learn basic strokes, rhythm and speed control from world-renowned Tabla maestro, Sarvar Sabri. Classes are available to all ages and skill sets, meaning even a complete beginner can learn to master this enchanting instrument.
