5-day Portrait Head in Clay with Hazel Reeves / Sussex Sculpture Studios / South East / London

Description

Portrait Head in Clay, Sussex Sculpture Studios, Billingshurst, West Sussex

Tutor: Hazel Reeves MRBS SWA FRSA

Monday 19 June to Friday 23 June 2017, 10am – 4pm, £350 (including materials and firing)

Have you ever wanted to capture someone’s face or expression in a sculpture? Working a portrait in clay from a live model is a really rewarding experience.  Learn with the celebrated artist Hazel Reeves MRBS SWA FRSA. On the first day you will start by examining the model and exploring the structure of the head, building a small portrait in clay. This learning will then be used to start the development of a life-size portrait on an armature. You will continue to work on this with the model for the next three and a half days. For those less experienced, the final morning will be spent learning how to hollow-out the portrait in readiness for firing. This course will be taught in a way suitable for all levels of experience – from beginners to the advanced. Course maximum: 8.
