The Essential School of Painting is pleased to offer this weekend practical abstract painting course tutored by Anthony Daley on 28 - 29 January 10am -  5pm. Anthony Daley is one of our faculty of highly experienced, professional  artists and teachers.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Explore contemporary abstract painting whilst looking at various approaches including painting materials, concepts, visual playfulness and witticisms which have underpinned and driven the production of some of the familiar iconic abstract pictures some of which are showcased in the Royal Academy's Abstract Expressionism exhibition ending January 2nd.

This course is suitable for anyone who is interested in painting and is open to exploring non-figurative picture making processes - to experiment and  explore at the juncture where thought mingles with the practical stuff of paint to create awe and magic. the course is suitable for the absolute beginner through to the abstract-curious, abstract-critical or even the figuration-bound artist who is seeking re-examination and new horizons.

Anthony Daley attained his Masters Degree in Fine art painting from Chelsea College of Art in 1983. He has an established national and international exhibition record and has taught at a range of institutions including postgraduate and undergraduate studies at Chelsea and the Slade Schools of art. He is the recipient of many awards and has work in several public and private collections including the Tate and the National Portrait Gallery and Saatchi Art
