A concise four-week creative writing course with Tutor Ruth de Haas on how to plan, write and market speculative fiction. The emphasis is on fantasy but we’ll also cover horror and science-fiction. 

The course covers a wide range of topics including world building, plotting, characterisation, and the marketplace, with plenty of interactive exercises. Suitable for all levels of writing experience. Attendees can begin a new piece of writing or improve upon a work-in-progress.

Following a young girl, Melanie, who is held prisoner, educated and studied in a secure facility, the horrifying truth about her and her classmates will soon be revealed... The Girl With All The Gifts has found great acclaim for its originality, characterisation and emotional impact.

Both novel and script were penned by M. R. Carey, who was recently nominated for a Bafta for Most Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. Carey will be on hand for this special event to discuss his work, take your questions and also give a first look at The Boy on The Bridge, the much-anticipated new novel set in the world of Girl, with pre-release copies on sale on the night.
