SoundBoxed Studio: Drum of the Voice & Body 

Summer Training for Performers Led by Hayley Hill, Daniel Cunningham and Jamie Misselbrook. 

Daniel Cunningham and Hayley Hill have worked internationally with physical and vocal theatre groups Teatr ZAR, Zecora URA.

Individual and collective performances have been featured in venues such as The barbican centre, SouthBank Centre, The RoundHouse and Battersea Arts Centre

SoundBoxed is a Process based performance company, makingtheatre built through continuous training (Daily, rigorous andcollaborative), creating immersiveperformances that organises the space and the action to maximisethe audiences' potential tointeract with the performers.This work steers away from the clichés of recreating the ritualised aesthetic of Grotowski and  Kantor.Instead, spring-boarding from the principlesof such practices to make physical vocal 'pop art' works connected directly to the contemporary context of London today.

This training will introduce to participants a rigorous approach to preparing for performance, using physical, vocal and rhythm based exercises developed by the group.

Participants will develop tools to increase openness, stamina and flexibility, encouraging a connection between the voice, body and embodied rhythm. The core of the training features live percussion which is essential to the work of SoundBoxed
