Description
Help our crowdfunder to save Queen's Park Families
Queen’s Park Families is a free, community-led drop in session for local families with young children, babies and toddlers in north Westminster.
Every week parents and carers meet for creative play, singing, maternity and peer support. The project is led by members of the community, managed by Creative Futures, with support from Paddington Development Trust’s Maternity Champions; who offer advice to expectant mothers and those with newborns.
In an area with high levels of social deprivation, and cuts to early years services, one parent has called Queen’s Park Families‘an absolute life line’.
The children are able to play with musical instruments, such as a large gathering drum, chimes, shakers and other percussion instruments. And every two months there is a special performance for the children and families which involves specialist musicians or artists coming to perform for the community project. The most recent being an immersive, interactive theatre show by Wonderful Beast called Orla and the Sun.
After successfully delivering this community-led initiative for nearly 3 years, the funding for Queen’s Park Families is coming to an end. We want to ensure this vital local project continues.
You can help! Please consider donating to our crowdfunding campaign, which will enable us to carry on running Queen’s Park Families until early 2017.
Thank you.
