Emergent British design studio HAND have joined forces with Manchester Craft & Design Centre’s Resident Makers and other creatives from across Manchester to celebrate craft, collaboration and the heritage of Manchester Craft & Design Centre in a new exhibition – HAND CRAFT.

49 artists will create 49 customised pieces of work which, when collated, will form a large mural representing an iconic section of Manchester Craft & Design Centre. The 50th piece will be a limited edition print of the mural.

Each of the 49 individual pieces will fit on one of HAND Studio’s packable, refillable, paper-topped tables, from where the artists will work on their creations. The table collection – HAND.01 – has been created in collaboration with paper pioneers G.F Smith and designed to ensure that inspiration is captured wherever it strikes, from the boot of a car to the centre of a creative studio.

The completed mural will be on display Manchester Craft & Design Centre from September 8th to October 30th 2016.
